The album begins with a snappy jazz-rock tune with two snaking synth lines, one fuzzy, one clear and lyrical, and up beat rhythmn. It is followed by another Karl Jenkins' tune, Carol Ann, a much softer, delicate number which takes its lead from the lyricism in the previous outing.4/5(25).

Jul 31,  · By far the best sounding version of this album is the UK CBS orange label LP version. As far as 4,5,6,7 the Japan CD's are far superior to the One Way's. Teeth, Kings and Queens, All white, Bone, Stanley Stamps Gibbon album, Carol Ann, Hazard Profile-Part 1, The Tale of the Taliesin. I love the Big Beat version of Soft Machine vol. 1.

Soft Machine - Carol Ann Seven is the seventh studio album by Soft Machine, released in Roy Babbington, who had previously contributed to Fourth [MOVLP] and Fifth [MOVLP] on double bass as a session musician, replaced Hugh Hopper on bass guitar, who left to begin a solo career. Their unique take on jazz rock was groundbreaking.

Seven (Gatefold Cover) [Vinyl LP record] I'm pleasantly surprised Soft Machine's Seven is a really good album. I was afraid the band was starting to lose its touch pertaining to all those imaginative jams we experienced on the four previous albums and would unleash a mediocre album. Carol Ann is a smooth delicate song with a heavy bass 4/5(25).
